birthdays

this day, a year ago and i still have his birthday registered in my cell phone. and i have my cell phone settings set so that birthdays pop up like a little post-it note on the main screen. for a few moments, i actually brainstormed what i would write and debated sending a happy birthday text message.

i think i'm to a place where i could send a message and not be upset when he doesn't reply. well, maybe i'd be a little frustrated in the "figures he wouldn't reply" kind of way, but it's not like i think we're ever going to become friends, so what's the point in extending some unnecessary olive branch (that, based on the way things ended, isn't even my branch to extend. hmph.)


speaking of birthdays, it's my other ex's birthday too. talk about crazy coincidence, huh?

he and i, on the other hand, became facebook friends (over two years after the breakup) and now he's maybe even someone i'd agree to catch up with over coffee (now, after how many years...?) if we were ever both in ohio at the same time (he lives in england).

yeah, so i'll send him a facebook message and call it a day.
