Karaoke Boy update

Karaoke Boy text: are you back in japan?

me: (ignore)

two days later on mixi

KB: are you back in japan? let's hang out.

me: i'm back. i'm in the library everyday, studying. it's been awhile since i've had to use my brain and it's more tiring than i thought! how are you?

KB: i'm good. let's hang out!

me: (silence)

next day

KB: let's hang out whatever day you're free this week.

me: everyday i'm in the library studying kanji so i don't really have that much time to hang out. i really wanna pass the test but if i don't get my act together, i won't get through all the material.><

KB: when's the test?

me: july 5th. you might think that's a long way off, but kanji are killing me.

KB: you still have 2 months so plan out your studying! if you don't understand something, i'll help you so let's hang out just a little bit!

me: oi. i AM planning it out. i've got other things going on outside of studying. as always, you are being too pushy.

KB: well, if you don't understand, i'll help you and i figure when the test gets close it'll be impossible, so let's hang out while it's still early!

this guy really can't take the hint can he??

sigh.

1. he STILL can't say sorry. (not that i should expect boys to change so quickly, eh?) when i said he was being too pushy, in my mind, a little "sorry, i just really wanna see you" reply would have possibly softened me up to the idea of getting together, but not a hint of him feeling bad is just pushing me more and more to a very definitive NO. i want to cut him some slack for being 20 and just not knowing any better, but somehow i can't. am i being too harsh and insensitive??

2. it may be a be of a premature (and slightly cocky) judgement, but i probably already know more kanji than him. or maybe he's not as dumb as he comes across? (yeah, i'm mean. i'll try to be nicer. maybe.) besides that, kanji aren't something someone can teach you. you just have to memorize them. sad truth.

3. seriously? how many times do i have to use the same excuse until he at LEAST says, "okay, well, good luck with your studying. let me know when you have some free time?" like everyone else!!

4. even if the conversation HAD gone like that, i'd still be saying no. the kid irritates me and this whole exchange only confirms and increases my irritation.

sigh.

accompanied by eye roll.

just for extra dramatic flair, of course. ;)
