i finally had a chance to head to the park near my house for some early evening hooping. my hoops' first outside adventure!!!
it was fairly empty, except for a grandpa and his grandson, some local middle schoolers, and of course your typical "park lingerer." you know, the old man who seems a little suspicious and kind of dirty? yeah, every park has one it seems.
i was a little self conscious in the beginning, but after a bit didn't really care. i only hooped for 30-45 minutes, but it was enough to satisfy the "i want to go hooping!!!" feeling. i also took some short videos of myself hooping because, really, i have no idea what i look like when i hoop. interesting to see and surprisingly helpful.
there are a couple moves i want to be able to do, but can't quite get yet. so, for now i'm just working on completely mastering the couple i can do and hopefully one day it'll just click.
-----
the "official" bbq invite text came on tuesday. yesterday afternoon, i texted the crush to see if he got the text and ask if he was going to the bbq. there's apparently going to be tennis before the bbq, so i added, "i can't really play tennis, but if the weather's nice, i'm thinking about taking my hula hoops..."
he replied after work and said "of course i'm going! you're gonna bring your hula hoops? then maybe i should go early too and you can let me hoop." (eeeee!!!) so i'm taking my hoops with me on sunday and hopfully he will come early and even if he can't hula hoop, at least we can chat. (such a sucker for this boy right now...)
then this morning, as i was waiting for the train, i got a text. i rarely get texts at 7am and i hoped it was him, but i figured it couldn't be. but it was.
yeah, i could get used to "goodmorning" texts. ;)
