(kinchaku, or small pouch)
yesterday i walked to nippori, which is an area famous for being "fabric town", and bought a bunch of fabric for a project i've joined in on over at sycamore stirrings. however, i severely overestimated how much fabric the actual project will require. it's a good thing i picked fabrics i like because now i have a ton of fabric to play with!
so, i didn't waste any time. i used the kinchaku that i bought in kyoto last year as the template and here's the result:
drawstring pouch, about the size of an electronic dictionary, and reversible too!
that's one down, five to go in my to do in oh nine!

Looks great.
I need a new jisho case so might have to give it ago. Love the drawstring.
Good luck with your other project- I had a quick look and it looks like a great project...I wish I could quilt (or handsew for that matter)
You did a fantastic job with that. I also liked the polka dots and the inside color a lot!!!
cute!
we should get together for a Nippori spree!
a little bit of something for you over at my pad...

I agree. It took much less of my scraps than I'd hoped. Hmmmm. Your pouch is great. I'm thinking after the charm quilt, the next scrap project will be "bags." I'll link to this pouch for sure - probably the end of Feb.
