spring break 23

my wallet cried just a little bit. i paid all my bills, my rent AND bought a plane ticket to kyushu! (number 10) i don't forsee any vacation longer than 2 or 3 days until the end of july (i'm not counting golden week because i pretty much refuse to try and travel at the same time all of japan does) so i just decided to go. i have a friend studying in kyushu so what better timing? back when i posted my 50 for 2008 on mixi, one friend commented "it's all food and travel!" sunday it occurred to me that it really is turning out to be.

then, in the late afternoon i headed to shimokitazawa for an event called fragment. it was a gathering of artists and designers displaying their work in a small basement club. as with musicians, seeing people who have an art, who imagine and dream and CREATE, makes me wonder if there isn't some equally cool talent somewhere in me that i just haven't discovered yet. i saw a glimpse of it back in college in my 3D Design art class. but being surrounded by these people makes me want more. to be more. to create and feel alive. it might be time to stop thinking i'm destined to always be toting around my little pocket digital camera...
