☆ i went back for "part two" of my interview with the job i was debating about. i basically decided that it's a great job and if it was THE JOB i wanted, giving up my evenings and weekends might be worth it. but it's not THE JOB i want, so...i told them i'm studying for the japanese test and that i'm just not sure about the job. they were understanding and said they were still interviewing with a couple other girls and would call me back either way.
☆ i stopped by Bee's office because i was in the neighborhood. also greeted his boss, who said if i wanted to work in the apparel industry surely there is something available and he'd keep his ears open for me. then he said, "or if you want to work downstairs in the store..." Bee's boss owns two stores; Bee works in the office of one, but his boss offered me a part time retail job in the other one. Bee said he heard they were looking to hire a female sales person because the one girl who worked there quit. if i'm just looking to make enough to pay rent while i'm studying, it's a possibility, i guess.
☆ i started japanese class. yep, i'm going to school! it's only twice a week for 2 hours, but yesterday was my first day and WHOA my brain isn't used to be used so much. i didn't put my pen down the entire 2 hours and twenty minutes. the teacher kept apologizing for running over, but if she wants to give us an extra 20 minutes for the same price, i'm not gonna complain! in class she explained a bunch of grammar points and we did some practice reading questions. it's definitely gonna get my ass in gear to study every day. i already have homework and studying to do ahead of time for tuesday's class. i wish it was enough to justify full on school supply shopping; i LOVE school supply shopping. i might have to buy a pretty colored folder/file to satisfy the urge.
☆ i made 5000yen for talking about myself, looking for a job, career search websites and a bunch of other stuff for 2 hours. there's a company that is doing research on bilingual foreigners looking for jobs in japan in the hopes to put together a website/network for bilinguals in japan. so, they are gathering data about "us." haha.
☆ i got a call back, scheduled a time for an interview and then withdrew my application for a part time english preschool job. the job days ended up conflicting with my japanese class and while the job paid really well, right now i really want to pass level 1 and there will be other jobs.
☆ i had a spontaneous dinner date with Ro. we ended up talking about money and investing among other things. i was totally unaware (classic) but apparently the two young business women at the table next to us were totally eavesdropping and looking at me the whole time. you'd think for a city as big as tokyo it wouldn't happen as often as it seems to. yes, i'm a foreigner, yes, i'm speaking japanese, what? though really, i've gotten over it for the most part and don't notice as much as i used to, but apparently Ro still picks up on it. of course, we were talking about money, so i guess peoples' ears perk up, hey?
☆ i had coffee with Cheer. it's been awhile since we've just chatted so there was a lot to catch up on. ah, i love a little girl talk on a friday.
☆ and lastly, i discovered that the "patch test" i got done for permanent hair removal worked. i went about 2 weeks ago and got the details and the lady did half of one of my underarms as a test. after she laser-ed me, she tugged at the hair to see if there was any reaction and a couple hairs came right out, root and all, but most didn't. she said it would take a couple weeks (something about the hair growth cycle, etc). she ended up shaving my armpit after that so i didn't shave for about a week to see if there was a difference when the hair grew back, but there wasn't. then early this week i was planning to wear a no-sleeve shirt, so i shaved. today the hair has grown enough to test it with the tweezers and almost all the hairs on the half she tested just came right out without the normal pinch you get when plucking hairs out with tweezers. i'd say it's about time to go back for the real deal.

Hey, I'm not sure where you're going for yours, but Musee Platinum is having a waki campaign and it's super cheap... about ¥4000. I've already done my "counseling" and my first appointment is in a couple of weeks.
