tag you're it

er...i'm it. i've been tagged (thanks nay!).

eight random facts about me:

1. i was born in alaska. my dad worked for the public health service for two years to pay back his student loans and i was born in the meantime.

2. my best friend growing up and i were often mistaken for twin...boys.

3. during the summers, i spent 8 hours a day at the local swimming pool. i got there before it opened and was almost always the last one out of the pool.

4. despite a classic awkward middle school experience, my 8th grade school photo is one of my favorites, even with braces.

5. i dated the same guy from the time i was 16 until i was almost 21.

6. i didn't drink in college until i came to japan during a college study abroad program, well past my 21st birthday.

7. i wore flip flops to my college graduation.

8. i still sleep with a stuffed animal. it's a big, round, chubby platypus (Chelsea thought it was a lamb) that i got for my 14th birthday from my mom.

consider yourself tagged if you read this far.

awwwww @ #8!

great learning a few things about you Jo!! I got mistaken as a boy thanks to my short short haircut in 5th grade.

*sigh* It was traumatizing.

Sounds like everyone seems to get mistaken as a boy sometime in their life... my mum cut my sister and my hair so short that while waiting for a bus, an old guy came up and said to us, "what are you two boys doing waiting alone for the bus!". lol
My best friend and I used to live at the pool in summer too - we would even be there on rainy days if it was open! The fun we had!!
