back from ohio

our days were filled with lots of eating, playing corn hole, country driving, watching baseball games, drinking beer, wake boarding, eating, laughing, roller coasters, drinking more beer, meeting friends, shopping, celebrating, family reunion-ing, and even more eating.

10 days was too short. leaving was hard as always.

but it was so good to see my family and be "home" for a little bit. the green satisfied something in me and the food did even more. Ro was most well behaved (haha) and made a good impression on my family (phew).

his english was a bit rocky in the beginning, but he quickly picked up some slang (both the useful and the inappropriate!) and my whole family was more than patient with him. he was often the silent listener in my family's never-ending conversations and he wished he could have spoken up more, but overall, it was a great time for us be "us" in english.

spending 11 days together, making long airplane rides go by quickly, and sleeping in "my" room with a queen size bed, waking up to Ro every morning, made coming back to my tiny apartment by myself even more lonely.

and now i've been up since 3:50am. i fear this round of jetlag will be brutal. starting today, i have 3 days of work (covering for someone on thursday) before getting a day off on friday and then another day of work on saturday.

in the meantime, i'm making my summer list - ways to bask in the summer sun and things to make the heat bearable.

off to the conbini for bread and yogurt for breakfast...
