an acquaintance from my semester abroad university in tokyo announced he is going to have a booth in the upcoming design festa (may 15-16). it's sparked something in me. i've been to design festa a handful of times and have always daydreamed about being a cool, creative someone-with-a-booth-at-design-festa but it always felt untouchable and beyond me.
may is too soon for me to get anything together, but by may, if i have some standard items (i'm thinking mostly bags/pouches, but who knows what kind of creativity spring will bring!!) and some protypes worked out, and if i can come up with some kind of name to create under, i'm thinking about working toward doing a booth in the fall/winter design festa which, judging from previous years, will be held in october or november.
and this is just my "say it and make it real so you have to follow through instead of pretending you never dreamed of doing it in the first place" post.

ohhhh, I would love to go, I have never managed it yet! How much does a stall cost, do you know?
it depends on the size booth you apply for and if you want to do one day or both days.
the standard booth size is two tatami and individual days were sold out (once the type of booth is sold out, the price goes away, which is a little annoying for us planners!) but both days was listed at 36,750yen.
mini booths are one tatami size and are sold out, but a couple days ago there were still mini booths available for one day for 10,500yen.
you can read more about it here: http://www.designfesta.com/application/booth/index_en.html
