ramblings

i don't know what's up with the viagra ads lately. i don't think i have the word verification turned on (to comment) because i think they are kind of annoying, but looks like i've gotten on someone's spam list and with all the anonymous viagra link comments, i might just have to turn it on.

i just got off the phone with this restaurant, where i will be enjoying a wonderful thanksgiving dinner again this year. it's a little pricey, but i'm not about to attempt turkey (not to mention attempt FINDING one and beginning to figure out how to cook one) and stuffing and gravy and ALL the trimmings. nope, i'm going to have an all you can eat meal and let someone else make it and clean it up. ha.

it's kind of a tradition for Bee and Style and me. the first time (3 years ago) we went to Good Honest Grub in harajuku, but it has since closed (and reopened in ebisu apparently) but the Suji's all-you-can-eat turkey/stuffing/vegetable/mashed potato and gravy/cranberry sauce buffet that we discovered the following year when GHG was closed, is a way better deal than the single plate entrees they offered at GHG. it's all about stuffing yourself silly, right? and man i love cranberry sauce.

so, Suji's it will be. another one of our friends from our exchange year moved to japan this past year, so she is coming, and so is a friend of Bee's who will be visiting japan then. feeling a little protective of my boys (ha!) and wanting it to just be the 3 of us, like always, but i realize the immaturity of that, as well as the fact that it's so unThanksgiving-like (shame on me). plus i'm sure if she's a friend of Bee's, we'll all get along fine.

Ro and i were also invited to a thanksgiving dinner the following weekend, so there'll be double the stuffing myself silly action this year. can't wait!

not sure if it makes up for the fact that my entire family is getting together this year in colorado for thanksgiving and i can't make it, but i'll try to forget about that. ah the joys of living on the other side of the world. also just trying to remind myself that at least i'll be home for christmas (i leave in 5 weeks!).

now if i could just start not failing so miserably at my jlpt studying. we used the test questions from the july test in class as a practice test yesterday. you'd think that since i TOOK that test, and have been studying SINCE that test, that i'd at least get a COUPLE more points than i did in july. nope. couldn't fight back THOSE tears. ...sigh.

oh yeah, Ro came over last night so i got up and made him breakfast while he showered and then sent him off to work (am i being way too romantic to love kissing him off to work in the morning?? because, well, i do.) and then i proceeded to get back in bed. ha. i was going to sleep til 10 and then get up to get ready for my english conversation lesson at noon, but my student called just before 10 to cancel. so i figured another hour of sleep would be nice and set my alarm for 11am. but then i couldn't seem to pull myself out of bed until 12:20pm. i think that's actually a record. we went to sleep at 1:30 (early for me since i've been up til 2 or 3 most nights) and i woke up around 5:20 for a bathroom break, but otherwise, there was no funny business. i don't know why i'm so tired. probably from doing nothing all day. just maybe.

maybe time for a little jog in the park this afternoon?

I LOVE the possibly unintended pun in the first sentence! :)
