putt putt and mexican

(still playing bloggy catch-up)

last weekend (nov. 1st) Ro and i finally made it to putt putt!  (thanks selena!)

the course is on the roof of world porter's, in yokohama.  we got there around dusk and played under the lights for the most part.  unfortunately that meant a bunch of blurry photos.  plus it was windy, which is always fun when you're playing putt putt on a course with no grass.  not even fake grass!  (i guess i've been spoiled by the creative and almost theme-park-like putt putt courses in north carolina, where my family used to go on vacation every summer.)  grass or no grass, we had a really good time.

i sort of already knew, but this confirmed that Ro and i are both super competitive.  he was ahead almost the whole way, but in the last couple holes, i pulled ahead (under?) by one stroke.  Ro promptly declared that we'd be back for a proper re-match.  haha.

we finished up around dinner time so we wandered down into world porter's.  there were a bunch of places, but we finally decided on la salsa, a mexican place.  i was really excited because i hadn't had mexican since...May's birthday party back in may 2008?  possibly?  i forget.  anyway, the menu was pretty big (a disaster in the making for us indecisive types!) but we finally decided on these:

the mexican rice and refried beans were delicious.  i would have preferred chicken fajitas, but knew that Ro would end up finishing what i didn't, so i let him convince me to get the beef.  and they were still good.  we both had corona's.  and we both got the salad bar too, which had fresh lettuce and toppings and this great dressing with just the right amount of kick to it.  it was like a spicy thousand island.  seconds indeed.
there was also a salsa bar.  i'm not really into super spicy stuff, and was a bit hesitant because they were all labelled in katakana (damn katakana) and didn't actually say what was in the salsa, so i stuck with two that looked familiar.

the view wasn't bad either.  we didn't get a window seat or anything, but were still able to see out the huge window that looked out over yokohama.  overall a very enjoyable dining experience.

Yum, that looks delicious!

I love putt putt, but I haven't been in so long. Being from North Carolina myself, we definitely have some elaborate, well thought out courses. I`m not sure what area ya`ll vacationed in, but the ones at the Outer Banks were great!

Ha, glad you made it there!

I like La Salsa too, miss my Mexican food (Tex-Mex?) fix. Was the guitar player there when you went?
