spring

last night i was outside sometime after 11pm, and it was unusually warm, and windy. then today was sunny and beautiful. i went to the convenience store in jeans, a t-shirt and a hooded sweatshirt. and wasn't clutching my wallet, cold.

around noon, i noticed the sun streaming into my bedroom. i'm rarely home to see the sun during the afternoon when it actually comes into my apartment and i thought it got at least a good 2 or 3 hours of sun but today i discovered the truth:

there's a building across the street that pretty much blocks out peak sun shine hours. i knew the time was short, but didn't realize it was THAT short. it's probably even worse in the winter too. it's one thing i'd change about my apartment. if only i lived on a higher floor to escape being in the shadow of other buildings...

anyway, for those 10 beautiful minutes, i sprawled out on the floor with the warm afternoon sun on my face, with the balcony door OPEN!

outside, it was still sunny and warm so i didn't wear a jacket when i left to visit my friend (old coworker who quit last march). just a light sweater, my suit jacket and a spring scarf.

haruichiban blew yesterday in tokyo. yes indeed, spring is on it's way.
