paying bills

if you don’t pay your bills on time in japan, there are no late fees. apparently this is unheard of in the states? (never lived alone in the states so i don't know...)

anyway, i pay all my bills at my local 7eleven and most of them still register when the cashier scans them even past their deadline, but my internet bill doesn’t. if the deadline passes, you’re out of luck until the next month's bill comes. so there's no late fee, they just turn off your internet after two months if you don’t pay.

yep, those other companies are just so 甘い. the internet company actually imposes deadlines. novel idea. but annoying when no one else does.

anyway, i paid my internet bill around 3:50pm this afternoon after getting home to a bill/notice of disconnection.

my internet was up and running again at 7:47pm.
