that big phone call from tuesday became a second big phone call today.
i sent my (japanese) resume out on wednesday evening and have been waiting to hear back. then, i had to work today for a special school event, and i wasn't at my desk most of the day. but early on in the morning, i came back to my desk to find i had two missed phone calls and one voicemail from the owner of Yamaguchiya.
the voicemail just said who he was and that he'd try calling back later. i called him back right away. as the phone rang i was so nervous. he had some questions about my resume but then plainly said, "i'd like you to work for me." i don't think i could have smiled bigger.
he gave me details about the
・job (taking food orders, selling souvenirs, checking in guests, etc)
・schedule (up at 3am to bed at 8pm)
・lifestyle (laundry&bath once every ten days, teeth brushing&face washing once a day)
・pay (a daily rate that i'm not even going to calculate into an hourly rate)
i asked a couple questions, including "can i bring my hula hoop?" he said there'd probably be somewhere to store it, so yes!! hello hooping at 3,776 meters!!
finally, he gave directions to his house, where i'll spend the night on august 4th before heading up to the top of mt fuji on the 5th for 20 days.
p.s. i'll be working at a place that looks something like this:

"can i bring my hula hoop?"
Hahha! What an odd request! But if that's a perk, sounds like a dream job for you.
YAY FOR YOU!!!!
*big applause*
Can't wait to hear more regarding it :D
Congratulations...I think you are crazy and I love it! I wish I could say i am going to come and visit you but I am never going up there again, sorry. I expect so many amazing hooping photos. You must write an article for hooping.org too! hooping on Mt Fuji, Guiness book record for the highest hoop? Definitely a first!
